Local Girl Scouts Help Feed the Needy

Girls from the Ark and Dove Presbyterian Church worked to make 10 gift baskets of food in time for Thanksgiving.

The following was submitted by the members of several girl scout troops in Odenton.

On Friday, Nov. 16, Girl Scout Troops at Ark and Dove Presbyterian Church (Troops 1116, 2310, and 1095) joined together with a local sister troop (Troop 1666) to make food baskets for those in need.

They wanted to make sure those families with less had a Thanksgiving meal as special as their own.

The scouts made it fun at Ark and Dove Presbyterian Church in Odenton by doing relays to put the food items into different baskets. These girls along with the support of their families really showed community spirit.

The girl scouts want to thank Harris Teeter grocery store in Columbia for leading the donations but also Weis and Safeway for their contributions. Everyone coming together made it possible for these troops to put together 10 complete meals for 10 very worthy families.

The scouts, but especially the families receiving the meals truly appreciate the gifts and donations.
