Tax Evasion, a High-Speed Police Chase and Elmo's Cough

Elmo Gets a Cough
The children of paid a visit to see Elmo and a whole gang of Sesame Street and Muppet characters as a part of the activity at Anne Arundel Medical Center (AAMC) in Annapolis.Â
Wandering yet curious eyes surveyed the large room while the kindergartners learned how to change diapers, put on a finger cast and other miscellaneous hospital activities.Â
In an effort to alleviate children's anxiety about hospitals in general, AAMC invited students from all over the county including schools from Pasadena, Severna Park and Annapolis (in addition to Severn).
Crime and Punishment
After a week of more lighthearted affairs, Severn got a taste of hard news in the area with stories about tax evasion and a high-speed police chase.Â
In a report released by the state comptroller, a in Severn was named as one of the top 25 tax evaders in Maryland.Â
A day later, a man wanted for murder from New York City found himself in Anne Arundel County as police were in a with a helicopter and K9 units.
In a partnership between the NYPD and Anne Arundel County police, officers disabled the suspect, Michael Kenny, and his vehicle in Millersville. According to police, Kenny traveled to Maryland to contact family, ultimately resulting in his arrest.Â
