Update: Teen Dies After Being Struck by Vehicle Near Parkway
The 15-year-old was rushed to a Laurel hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Updated: (1:04 p.m.) - A teenage boy was killed after being struck by a vehicle while walking on a road near the Russett community Thursday morning.Â
Division Chief Keith Swindle, a spokesman for the Anne Arundel County Fire Department, said the incident happened just before 6 a.m. near Route 198 and Russett Green East in Laurel.Â
The teen was transported to Laurel Regional Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

The Anne Arundel County Police Department confirmed that he later died. He was identified as Jaelin Ashe of Carriage Walk Lane in Laurel.Â
An investigation revealed that the teen was struck by a 2010 Chevrolet Camaro while trying to cross the road and was struck by a car traveling east on Route 198. Police said the teen crossed against the signal warning pedestrians not to cross.

Investigation into the accident forced the closure of lanes on the Baltimore Washington Parkway for part of Thursday morning.
