Man Charged in June Reisterstown Murder at Leasing Office
Melinda Schaefer was stabbed to death in mid-June at the leasing office in Reisterstown where she worked.

A 27-year-old Baltimore County man has been charged with first-degree murder in the June 14 stabbing death of Melinda M. Schaefer at a Reisterstown leasing office, according to Baltimore County Police.
Rashaan M. Williams, of the 3700 block of Twin Lakes Court in Milford Mill was arrested without incident around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday night in the parking lot of his a Twin Lakes Court apartment complex, according to police.
He is charged with killing Schaefer, 29, of the 8200 block of Cornwall Road in Dundalk in the leasing office where she worked at the Townes at Harvestview, a townhouse community on Augusta Ridge Rd. in Reisterstown, police said.

Williams was employed as a maintenance worker for the Townes at Harvestview and police report that at the time of the murder, he lived in the Townes at Harvestview community.
The investigation shows that he killed Schaefer between 9:24 and 9:51 a.m., police said. Police will not speculate about the motive for the murder.

Police said that upon arriving at the murder scene, they found Schaefer in the first floor of the leasing office lying, face down, in a pool of blood. She had been stabbed multiple times in the head and upper body. There appeared to have been a struggle in the office area. The victim's chair was overturned, the desk had slid across the room and files and office equipment had been knocked to the floor. Police found a large amount of blood on the walls and the vertical blinds, according to police reports.
Williams is being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center.
