Owings Mills Shooting: Gunman Charged, Police Say

Police said they made an arrest in the shooting that happened Friday afternoon in Owings Mills that left a man in critical condition.

OWINGS MILLS, MD — An Owings Mills man was charged with attempted murder in connection with a shooting that happened Friday afternoon.

Joseph David Carter, 32, of Wimbledon Court, is charged with attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault and using a firearm in a felony crime, court records show.

Police said officers identified Carter as the man who shot and wounded another person on Reisterstown Road.

At 3 p.m. on Friday, officers were called to a shooting in the 9600 block of Reisterstown Road and found a man had been shot once.

The victim was taken to an area hospital, where police said he was listed in critical but stable condition on Saturday.

Carter is being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center. He has a bail review hearing slated for Monday, according to court records.
