Pikesville Man Charged in Purse Snatchings

Baltimore County Police charged Albert Bogat, 28, of the 2500 block of Lightfoot Drive in Pikesville, with robbery and second-degree assault in connection with two purse snatchings in Pikesville.

Bogat is under investigation for related incidents in Owings Mills, police said.

Baltimore County police said they arrested Bogat in connection with two Feb. 26 purse snatchings in the parking lots of and .

"He was using his mother's vehicle...and he was apprehended at his residence without incident," said Lt. William Lally of the Baltimore County Police Department.

He was arrested March 6, according to court records.

"Mr. Bogat is currently under investigation for similar incidents," said Lally, assistant commander of the Pikesville precinct.

Those incidents are within the precinct, in Pikesville and Owings Mills, according to Sgt. Vickie Warehime.

In the first incident, at 1:55 p.m. Feb. 26, a woman was walking in the parking lot outside of Shoppers Food at 2801 Smith Ave. when Bogat allegedly came up behind her and took her purse out of her hand, a police report states.

At 5:50 p.m. that same day, Bogat allegedly drove up behind a woman in the parking lot of Seven Mile Market, 201 Reisterstown Road, and allegedly stole her purse, another police report states.

After the second incident, Bogat allegedly used a stolen credit card at Walgreens in Quarry Lake at Greenspring shopping center, the police report states.

Bogat faces two robbery charges and two second-degree assault charges in connection with those incidents, according to court documents.

He has been released from the Baltimore County Detention Center on $100,000 bond, court records state.
