Vice Chair Resigns From Baltimore County School Board
Chery Pasteur's resignation is effective immediately and comes after announcing her candidacy for a seat in Maryland's General Assembly.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — The vice chair of the Baltimore County School Board announced her resignation Thursday. Chery Pasteur's resignation is effective immediately, the school district said.
Pasteur, who represents District 2 and was elected to the school board in 2018, recently announced her candidacy for the House of Delegates seat in District 11A. State law prohibits a person from serving on the Board of Education while pursuing an elected or appointed office for a political party or the local, state or federal government.
“I am thankful for my time on the Board of Education and the opportunity to serve the students and staff of BCPS,” Pasteur said in a news release. “I have grown tremendously in this role, and I look forward to continuing my work and advocacy on behalf of the children of Baltimore County.”
