2 Deadly Crashes On Pulaski Highway Reported In 3 Days
A fatal crash involving a parked car and a head-on collision with a street sweeper occurred on Route 40 in recent days, police said.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — Two deadly crashes have occurred on US 40/Pulaski Highway in the past few days, according to Baltimore County police.
On Saturday morning, police said an SUV driver died after colliding head-on with a street sweeper on Route 40 near Contractors Road.
Dennis L. Johnson Jr., 52,was behind the wheel of a 2005 Chevrolet Equinox and had been headed west on Route 40 around 12:30 a.m. when, for reasons that are unknown, police said he drove the SUV into the eastbound lane and crashed head-on into a 2018 Isuzu Street Sweeper.

Johnson was pronounced deceased at the scene, according to police. Officials said the driver of the street sweeper was hospitalized with minor injuries.
Ralph Gipprich, 63, died after a crash on Route 40 east before Rossville Boulevard Thursday night, according to police.

Around 5:25 p.m., officials said Gipprich was driving a 2018 Nissan Altima when he went off the road and hit an 2018 Honda Accord that did not have anybody inside. Police said he had driven off the road and into a parking lot.
Gipprich was taken to a hospital and pronounced deceased, police reported.
The Baltimore County Police Crash Team is still investigating the causes of both crashes.
