MIDDLE RIVER, MD — Two restaurants are close to opening in Middle River's growing Greenleigh development off White Marsh Boulevard.

Bubbakoo's Burritos and Bajeko Sekuwa Restaurant are both nearing completion, realtors from St. John Properties told Patch on Tuesday. Both are finishing up their buildout in the strip mall located at 710 Concourse Drive.

Bubbakoo's is opening on June 30, its website says.

Bajeko Sekuwa Restaurant, which offers Indian and Nepalese cuisine, hasn't announced its exact opening date. It plans to debut at some point this summer, realtors told Patch.

"There is high demand for more fast casual restaurants – both from the employees working in our surrounding buildings and from the rapidly growing residential base in Greenleigh," Bill Holzman, vice president of retail leasing for St. John Properties, told Patch in a Tuesday statement. "There are no restaurants currently in Greenleigh offering Mexican and Nepali Cuisines so these will be very welcomed additions."

Bubbakoo's Burritos is a quick-service restaurant with over 100 stores in 15 states. It specializes in made-to-order Mexican fusion dishes like burritos, quesadillas, tacos and bowls.

The Greenleigh location will span 1,726 square feet. MacKenzie Commercial's Mike Ruocco and Tim Harrington represented Bubbakoo's in securing the lease.

Holzman called Bubbakoo's a "nationally recognized eatery."

"The dense residential and commercial sections of Greenleigh attracted us to this location," franchise owner Sukhwinder Sidu said last November in a statement. "We are also good friends with the franchise owner of Dunkin' at Greenleigh, and his endorsement of the community provided us with tremendous confidence."

Bajeko Sekuwa's signature dishes include Biryani, Tandoori chicken, grilled salmon and Nepali-style meals such as chicken and goat Sekuwa.

The restaurant will span 4,266 square feet. Kris Ghimire of Ghimire Homes represented the tenant in leasing negotiations.

"Bajeko Sekuwa is also a well-known restaurant chain in the Nepali community with over 20 locations in Nepal and the United States," Holzman said.

Greenleigh is a 1,000-acre mixed-use business community situated off Interstate 95 and Maryland Route 43 in eastern Baltimore County. Upon completion, it will house nearly 2 million square feet of commercial space and over 3,300 residential units, including single-family homes, townhomes and luxury apartments.

The neighborhood is still filling its already developed commercial space. Recent additions include the Uptown Cheapskate second-hand clothing store, the Kore Barre fitness studio and the Cellfix Plus technology repair store.
