Baltimore County Detective Hospitalized After Collapsing During Shift
The detective was working a voluntary overtime shift at Precinct 6 in Towson when the incident occurred, police said.
TOWSON, MD — A Baltimore County detective was hospitalized on New Year's Eve after officials said he collapsed during his shift.
Detective P. Hoke, a 30-year veteran of the agency, was working a voluntary overtime shift at Precinct 6 in Towson when he collapsed at his desk around 7:30 p.m., Baltimore County police said in a statement.
Hoke was taken to the hospital, where he remained as of Thursday. Police have not provided additional details on his condition.

"Our hearts are with Hoke and his family, including his father, Robert, a retired member of the agency,” Chief Robert McCullough said. “It is dedicated members like Detective Hoke who make the Baltimore County Police Department such a world-class agency.”
Hoke is currently assigned to the department’s Criminal Investigations Bureau.
