Bicyclist, 76, Dies Weeks After Towson Crash: Police

A bicyclist died weeks after a Towson crash, police said. He was 76 years old.

TOWSON, MD — A bicyclist died three weeks after a Towson crash, police announced Thursday.

Officers identified the victim as 76-year-old Edward Files.

Authorities said the collision happened Sept. 20 around 9:45 a.m. along Taylor Avenue near Collinsdale Road.

Police said Files was biking east on the Taylor Avenue sidewalk when he came into contact with the front of a 2017 Ford Taurus sedan that was exiting a nearby driveway. The Ford driver stayed on the scene.

The Baltimore County Fire Department took Files to a hospital for treatment, officers said.

Authorities said Files died from his injuries on Oct. 13.

The Baltimore County Police Department is still investigating.
