A Family Affair Children's Center

We have a full preschool program serving children ages two through five years old. We use creative curriculum which is a theme based, teacher created curriculum. We have a music teacher who comes once a week and we take several field trips a year. Our 2’s and 3’s Program In our 2’s and 3’s room we focus on helping children master self-care tasks such as toilet-training and using cups and forks as well as building social skills. We also lay the foundation for future academic learning with the basics such as the alphabet, colors, and basic math skills such as patterns and counting. Our 4’s and 5’s Program Our 4’s and 5’s program focuses on Kindergarten readiness. We cover all developmental areas including literacy, math concepts, science, social skills, music, and art all couched within a fun and interactive theme such as “Animals” or “The Beach.” Learning activities related to each of those topics are done throughout the week. Before and After School Care We provide before and after school care for children who attend Pine Grove or Harford Hills Elementary. We are open when schools are closed. We do a variety of indoor and outdoor activities such as: ○ Table games ○ Crafts ○ Legos ○ Outdoor play We also offer homework help, a morning and afternoon snack. Children are picked up and dropped off from the center by the BCPS bus system. Summer Camp We offer a school age summer camp for Kindergarten—5th graders. UPDATE 4:30 p.m.: Traffic is opening on the inner loop of I-695 after a fatal crash near the Belair Road exit closed traffic for five hours, <a href="http://www.chart.state.md.us/trafficAlert/trafficAlert.asp" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">according to the Maryland Department of Transportation website.</a> A <a href="http://www.chart.state.md.us/video/video.php?feed=0b0013d500f00007004ce2369e235daa" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">traffic camera near the scene</a> shows traffic is heavy, but moving, and one lane is still closed for a short distance. --- UPDATE 12:25 p.m.: The five-vehicle crash on the inner loop of I-695 near the Belair Road exit involved a tractor trailer and has left at least one person dead, <a href="http://www.baltimorenewsjournal.com/2013/10/14/police-on-scene-of-fatal-crash-on-i-695-in-overlea/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">according to </a><a href="http://www.baltimorenewsjournal.com/2013/10/14/police-on-scene-of-fatal-crash-on-i-695-in-overlea/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">The Baltimore News Journal</a>. --- A five-vehicle crash has shut down the inner loop of I-695 near the Belair Road exit, <a href="http://www.chart.state.md.us/trafficAlert/trafficAlert.asp" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">according to the Maryland Department of Transportation website.</a> All three lanes and both shoulders were closed by the crash, which was reported shortly before 11:30 a.m. As of noon, <a href="http://www.chart.state.md.us/video/video.php?feed=0b0013d500f00007004ce2369e235daa" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">traffic cameras showed multiple emergency vehicles</a> on the roadway, and traffic moving slowly along the outer loop. No details of the cause of the crash or injuries have yet been released.
