Fatal Crash In Essex Claims 64-Year-Old Man: Police

A fatal crash in Essex claimed a man's life, police said. He was 64.

ESSEX, MD — A man died after a Sunday crash in Essex, police said.

Officers identified the victim as Barry Stokes, 64.

Authorities said they were called to the 200 block of Back River Neck Road just before 7 a.m.

Police said Stokes was driving a 2016 Toyota Corolla south on Back River Neck Road when the sedan left the roadway and hit a pole.

Medics took the victim to an undisclosed hospital, where officers said he died soon after.

Authorities are still investigating.
