Fatal Crash On New Year’s Day: 27-Year-Old Victim Identified In Baltimore County

A fatal New Year's Day crash left a 27-year-old driver dead in Baltimore County, police said.

OWINGS MILLS, MD — A man died after a New Year's Day crash in Owings Mills, police said.

Officers identified the victim as 27-year-old Jamal Wright.

Authorities said the wreck happened around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday on Owings Mills Boulevard near Interstate 795.

Police said a 2013 Ford Expedition was traveling south on Owings Mills Boulevard when it left the roadway for an unknown reason and hit a retaining wall.

Officers said the SUV driver was taken to a hospital, where he died soon after.

Authorities are still investigating the circumstances of the single-vehicle crash.
