A Family Affair Children's Center

We have a full preschool program serving children ages two through five years old. We use creative curriculum which is a theme based, teacher created curriculum. We have a music teacher who comes once a week and we take several field trips a year. Our 2’s and 3’s Program In our 2’s and 3’s room we focus on helping children master self-care tasks such as toilet-training and using cups and forks as well as building social skills. We also lay the foundation for future academic learning with the basics such as the alphabet, colors, and basic math skills such as patterns and counting. Our 4’s and 5’s Program Our 4’s and 5’s program focuses on Kindergarten readiness. We cover all developmental areas including literacy, math concepts, science, social skills, music, and art all couched within a fun and interactive theme such as “Animals” or “The Beach.” Learning activities related to each of those topics are done throughout the week. Before and After School Care We provide before and after school care for children who attend Pine Grove or Harford Hills Elementary. We are open when schools are closed. We do a variety of indoor and outdoor activities such as: ○ Table games ○ Crafts ○ Legos ○ Outdoor play We also offer homework help, a morning and afternoon snack. Children are picked up and dropped off from the center by the BCPS bus system. Summer Camp We offer a school age summer camp for Kindergarten—5th graders. Since opening on Nov. 2, attendance at the annual "Christmas in Perry Hall" craft show has been "unbelievable, even more than last year," said show manager Sheila Crocken.  The show is held daily at the Perry Hall Community Hall—on Gerst Road, about a third of a mile up from East Joppa Road, past New Gerst Lane—and will continue until Nov. 25. See the Patch event listing for times.  Five more crafters than last year are participating for a total of 65. "They've brought in quite a lot of business and a lot more items, especially Ravens items," Crocken said.  "It's a community up here. Everyone tells us how good our prices are. It's stuff you can't get at the mall or online. A lot of things are homemade," she added.  One new addition to this year's show is a food drive for the Maryland Food Bank. Customers are urged to bring canned goods and other non-perishable food to the show. Cash donations are also accepted.
