Perry Hall Wawa To Open This Week
Wawa plans grand opening festivities in Perry Hall, including mascot appearances, free t-shirts and coffee plus a contest.

PERRY HALL, MD — The Perry Hall Wawa will welcome customers this week, with a grand opening slated for Thursday. Local leaders and the Ravens mascot Poe will be in attendance, organizers say. Wawa also plans to celebrate people and organizations contributing to the community.
At the new store, food will be made to order from the kitchen, which will also offer Wawa's signature hoagies as well as coffee, burgers and breakfast sandwiches. In addition, the shop will sell dairy and bakery products as well as other sundries.
A Wawa fuel station will have entrances off both Belair Road and Honeygo Boulevard.

Grand opening ceremonies will follow at 9 a.m., with Wawa mascot Wally Goose, Baltimore Ravens mascot Poe, oversized scissors, red ribbon, confetti and fanfare.
Police and fire personnel will be able to participate in a hoagie-building contribution, and Special Olympics athletes will also be there to celebrate the grand opening and raise awareness of the Polar Bear Plunge on Saturday, March 26.
From Thursday to Sunday, people will be able to get free coffee in a toast to the community, according to Wawa.
The Perry Hall location is the fifth to open this year out of the 54 total stores projected to open in 2022 for Wawa.
To celebrate, the company has created a program called the 2022 Day Brighteners Tour.
Nominate Community Heroes
Before opening, Wawa is asking people to nominate Day Brighteners, or people who have a positive impact on the Perry Hall community by doing something like volunteering at a food pantry, mentoring children, organizing a toy drive or acting as an "everyday hero" like a police officer or firefighter.
Do you know someone who goes above and beyond to make a bright impact on their community? Nominate the person here. Wawa will present the winner with a gift basket at the grand opening.
"At Wawa, our core purpose is fulfilling lives every day and since our first store opened, we’ve believed that we all have a role in making this world a better place," Wawa President/CEO Chris Gheysens said in a statement. The first store opened in 1964.
"Our store teams and associates deliver experiences and emotional connections," Gheysens said. "Simply put, they help make their communities happier and more connected. This year, we’re excited to toast all the incredible Day Brighteners and kick off this one-of-a-kind tour with a stop at each new store to show our 'Goose Gratitude' to associates and customers whose little acts of kindness make a big difference in our communities."
The Perry Hall Wawa is at 9809 Belair Rd.
