Road Rage Sparks Gun, Drug Arrest: Police

A man pointed a gun at a driver on I-695 in Baltimore County, police said. He was arrested in Harford County on gun and drug charges.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — A road rage incident led police to a man accused of gun and drug crimes in Baltimore County and Harford County, state troopers said on Friday.

Travis Dontray Thomas, 26, of Dundalk is accused of pointing a handgun at another driver and possessing suspected cocaine.

On Wednesday around 11 a.m., a driver reported that another driver pointed a silver firearm at them and their passenger during an apparent road-rage interaction, a press release said.

The Maryland State Police Golden Ring Barrack answered the call and said the incident happened on the outer loop I-695 prior to I-95. That's located in the Rosedale area.

Nobody was hurt in the encounter.

The Maryland State Police Highway Gun Crimes Initiative said investigators identified Thomas as the suspect.

Troopers said they found Thomas at his place of employment in Harford County on Thursday and executed search warrants.

Authorities said they seized a loaded firearm and suspected cocaine packaged for distribution.

Investigators said they executed a second search warrant at Thomas' home in Dundalk and found two additional firearms and additional suspected cocaine.

Police said Thomas is charged with two counts of felony assault, two counts of misdemeanor assault and using a firearm during a felony crime in Baltimore County.

Troopers said he is also charged with having a loaded handgun in a vehicle and possession of a firearm in the commission of a drug trafficking crime in Harford County.

He was arrested on Thursday afternoon in Perryman, authorities said.
