New Restaurant Opening In Baltimore County Is 'Not Your Typical Diner': Reports
A new restaurant is opening its first current Baltimore County location. With milkshakes and healthy meals, "it's not your typical diner."

NOTTINGHAM, MD — A new diner opens Wednesday in Nottingham.
Silver Diner will host its grand opening at 11 a.m. in The Avenue at White Marsh shopping center.
This will be the first current Silver Diner in Baltimore County and the 10th in Maryland. Silver Diner previously had a Towson location, but The Baltimore Sun said it closed in 2001.

The 35-year-old chain based in Rockville has 23 locations spread between Maryland, Virginia, the District of Columbia and New Jersey.
WMAR reported that the corner restaurant filled the space formerly occupied by Barnes & Noble, which downsized to a smaller store next door last year.

This will be the first restaurant at The Avenue that serves breakfast, WMAR said.
"It's not your typical diner," Silver Diner spokesperson Vicki Bendure told The Sun.
Founders Bob Giaimo and Ype Von Hengst opened the first Silver Diner in 1989 in Montgomery County with plans to shake up the restaurant landscape.
They have reached $150 million in sales by partnering with local farmers to offer diner classics like milkshakes alongside reimagined menu options.
"It's a diner with vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, low-calorie options as well as typical diner fare," Bendure told The Sun.
White Marsh will be the largest Silver Diner location, Baltimore County Council Member David Marks (R-District 5) said.
Marks said the eatery will employ 140 workers and seat more than 320 patrons. Silver Diner will have an outdoor patio and an indoor bar.
"As Councilman for The Avenue, I am thrilled by the vitality of this wonderful commercial area and look forward to the diner's opening," Marks said on Facebook on April 16.
Silver Diner is also partnering with the nonprofit Baltimore Community Foundation to raise money and awareness for the Maryland Tough Baltimore Strong Key Bridge Fund.
"We are so thankful for this addition to our tenant mix and cannot wait to see them officially open to the public," The Avenue said on Facebook last Friday.
Located at 8123 Honeygo Boulevard Suite H, Silver Diner opens daily at 7 a.m. It closes at 11 p.m. on Sunday and Monday, midnight on Tuesday through Thursday and 1 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.
Happy hour starts at 3 p.m. on Monday through Friday with food discounts until 6:30 p.m. and drink deals until 9 p.m.
