We have a full preschool program serving children ages two through five years old. We use creative curriculum which is a theme based, teacher created curriculum. We have a music teacher who comes once a week and we take several field trips a year. Our 2’s and 3’s Program In our 2’s and 3’s room we focus on helping children master self-care tasks such as toilet-training and using cups and forks as well as building social skills. We also lay the foundation for future academic learning with the basics such as the alphabet, colors, and basic math skills such as patterns and counting. Our 4’s and 5’s Program Our 4’s and 5’s program focuses on Kindergarten readiness. We cover all developmental areas including literacy, math concepts, science, social skills, music, and art all couched within a fun and interactive theme such as “Animals” or “The Beach.” Learning activities related to each of those topics are done throughout the week. Before and After School Care We provide before and after school care for children who attend Pine Grove or Harford Hills Elementary. We are open when schools are closed. We do a variety of indoor and outdoor activities such as: ○ Table games ○ Crafts ○ Legos ○ Outdoor play We also offer homework help, a morning and afternoon snack. Children are picked up and dropped off from the center by the BCPS bus system. Summer Camp We offer a school age summer camp for Kindergarten—5th graders. ROSSVILLE, MD — A student was stabbed after exiting a school bus Thursday afternoon in Rossville, officials said. "A student who was on bus 183 was stabbed after they exited the bus," Overlea High School administrators said in a letter to summer school families. Police said they were called for "an assault with a knife" at Franklin Square Drive and King Avenue. Officers said the juvenile victim was taken to a hospital and is expected to survive. Authorities said they arrested a minor and charged them with first- and second-degree assault. The suspect was placed with the Department of Juvenile Services. "I want you to be assured that the safety of our students is our top priority," the Overlea High Letter said. "If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the school."
