Student Stabbed After Exiting School Bus: Police

A student was stabbed after exiting a school bus in Baltimore County, officials said. Police arrested the suspect.

ROSSVILLE, MD — A student was stabbed after exiting a school bus Thursday afternoon in Rossville, officials said.

"A student who was on bus 183 was stabbed after they exited the bus," Overlea High School administrators said in a letter to summer school families.

Police said they were called for "an assault with a knife" at Franklin Square Drive and King Avenue.

Officers said the juvenile victim was taken to a hospital and is expected to survive.

Authorities said they arrested a minor and charged them with first- and second-degree assault. The suspect was placed with the Department of Juvenile Services.

"I want you to be assured that the safety of our students is our top priority," the Overlea High Letter said. "If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the school."
