What Road in Perry Hall Needs a Speed Bump?

Perry Hall, MD- Over 9,000 fatalities occurred nationally during 2014 due to speeding according to the latest statistics from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The data also shows a correlation between a driver’s age and the likelihood of a speed-related accident. As the age of a driver increases, their risk of being in an accident decreases. Men are also more likely to be at the wheel during a speeding accident, according to the study.

While the number of speed-related fatalities have continually decreased since 2005, speeding still remains an issue in many of our Patch communities, including Perry Hall. Readers suggested everything from increased police presence to more stop signs to building less housing to keep traffic at bay.

If you’re frustrated with speeders in a certain part of Perry Hall, you are in good company. We reached out to readers on Facebook, asking which local road they thought needed a speed bump. Here’s what your neighbors told us:

• "The roads leading into Perry Hall apartments needs humps. I lived there for 9 years. Kids are everywhere and cars drive too fast. No other complaints that I can think of."
• "Silver Spring Road - I think cars race on the stretch of road between Bel Air Rd and Perry Hall Blvd."
• "Oak White Road between Proctor and Klausmeir. They use it for a short cut to avoid the stupid circle on Seven Courts."
• "Between Beaconsfield and Berryhill. Homes back up to Beaconsfild. The cars sound like they are drag racing."
• "None!!! They won't help, we need more police officer out to pull people over!"
• "Link Avenue, road is in need of serious repair and speed bumps!"

• "Minte Drive. Considering it is a short, dead end street, people fly down this road."
• "They put in a speed hump on Baker. It does not slow cars at all. It isn't high enough. So, if anymore will be installed, hopefully they will be done correctly."
