We asked Patch readers, what they would build or fix in Perry Hall with $1 million. Here's what you said.

Perry Hall, MD - Earlier this week, Perry Hall Patch asked our Facebook readers what they would build or fix in town if they were given $1 million.
Readers from across the area responded with answers varying from new playgrounds, renovated high schools and improved hospitals.
Also early this week, U.S. News and World Report released its list of the Top 10 Children’s Hospitals Across the Country. The hospitals were ranked in terms of “clinical outcomes,” “efficient coordination of care,” and “care-related resources.”

The publication periodically releases lists regarding the best schools in the country as well as most livable cities. Many of the things that make a town or city ‘livable’ are resources and public spaces i.e. good schools, roads, parks, libraries, etc. Not surprisingly, these were many of things readers said they would build or fix in their town if granted $1 million to do so.

- "I'd buy half of the dozen Walgreens and CVS and turn them into other businesses! Ridiculous we can't get a decent eatery/bakery but God forbid there isn't a 7-11, CVS, Walgreens or gas station on every corner!"
- "Probably not enough money to do it, but with all the new developments in the area from when I was a kid to now, they are 30 years overdue for another high school. In 2004, there were up only and down only stairwells for safety reasons. Changing of the classes resulted in a human traffic jam. The county needs to stop dodging the issue. The Perry Hall High School trailer park is not the answer."
- "Let's build less (unless it's a school). We already have way too many new homes that have caused overcrowding in schools and soooo much traffic because roads haven't been widened or turn lanes added. Rebuild the eyesore on corner of Philadelphia and Cowenton/Ebenezer. The snow storm was months ago and it's an ugly mess. Maybe a nice (not chain) restaurant."
- "I'd build a basketball court in the rental communities on Chapel Road so the kids wouldn't have to walk through our neighborhood to play basketball at Gunpowder Elementary School. Wouldn't be so bad if they weren't so loud and would stop throwing trash when they walk through."
- "We need a Target in the area and would like to see a Trader Joe's."
- "A high school but one million won't buy a much needed high school."
- "It would be nice to build a new high school in the Kingsville area, but since that isn't going to happen, I would put in a turf field at Perry Hall High School."
- "New signage for Perry Hall Square Shopping Center. Overall, it looks run down and depressing there."
- "I would restore the Perry Hall Mansion to its former glory."
- "I like the skate park idea, with other XGame sports in mind. (BMX bike track). The city will have one for the lawless bikers. We want one too!"
