$1 Million Powerball Sold At Rockville Store

Three Powerball players in Maryland won $50,000 each this week, but the biggest winner bought a $1 million ticket at a Rockville store.

ROCKVILLE, MD — E&C Mid Atlantic in Rockville sold a winning $1 million Powerball ticket Jan. 5, the biggest Powerball prize in the state this week.

The prize has been claimed, Maryland Lottery said.

Three other people in Maryland won Powerball prizes of $50,000 — those tickets were sold in Baltimore, Bethesda and Pasadena. Scratch-offs also delivered some cash to Marylanders. Someone in Bethesda won a $250,000 prize and three people won $100,000 prizes in Knoxville, Bladensburg and Hyattsville.

"In all, 35 players across the state won or claimed prizes of $10,000 or more, and the Lottery paid more than $33.1 million in prizes in the seven days ending Jan. 9," the Maryland Lottery said in an announcement.

Anyone winning a prize of more than $25,000 needs to make an appointment at the Maryland Lottery Claims Center in Baltimore to claim their prize.
