Community Colleges Ranking: Here's How Montgomery College Fared
WalletHub recently released its list of best community colleges in the nation. Here's how well Montgomery College did.
ROCKVILLE, MD — Montgomery College ranks among the best in the nation for community colleges, according to a WalletHub study released on Monday.
The personal finance website ranked 698 schools across three key dimensions: cost and financing; education outcomes; and career outcomes. Researchers then evaluated those dimensions using 18 relevant metrics, including first-year retention and graduation rates, availability of employment services for students, and per-pupil spending.
Each metric was graded on a 100-point scale, with 100 being the best. WalletHub said researchers then determined each institution's "weighted average across all metrics to calculate its overall score and used the resulting scores to rank-order" their sample.

The site crunched the numbers and Montgomery College is No. 46 on the list (63.8 points).
It also placed second in the state of Maryland. Carroll Community College came in first, with 65.54 points.
