Reminder: Gaithersburg Fireworks at Bohrer Park Set for July 8

Due to stormy weather on the Fourth of July, the fireworks were rescheduled for Friday, July 8.

Due to inclement weather, the July 4th fireworks show at Bohrer Park at Summit Hall Farm has been rescheduled for Friday, July 8, 2016. The spectacular fireworks display is scheduled to shoot off at dusk (approximately 9:30 p.m.), weather permitting.

Bohrer Park at Summit Hall Farm is home to the Gaithersburg Water Park, Skate Park and Mini Golf course, plus walking paths, a playground and ponds. It also houses the Activity Center, which will be open until 9:30 p.m. as a comfort and cooling station.

Optimal viewing areas are in Bohrer Park and various points in surrounding locations. Bohrer Park is within a ¼ mile walk of Olde Towne, Gaithersburg, where there will be free parking in a variety lots and in the parking garage. Attendees are welcome to bring food and blankets to enjoy a picnic during the event. For safety reasons, alcoholic beverages, weapons (real or facsimile), glass containers, and fireworks of any kind (including sparklers) are strictly prohibited. Pets are not recommended due to crowd and noise issues. If brought, they must be leashed. Skateboards, rollerblades and bikes will be confined to the Skate Park.

Note that the Gaithersburg Police Department is planning lane reductions along Rt. 355 adjacent to the park the evening of the event. Crossing guards will be stationed at the intersections of Rt. 355 and S. Summit Avenue, Education Boulevard and Deer Park Road. There will be many pedestrians in the area. Please use caution; avoid the area if you are not attending the event.
