PHOTOS: County Firefighters Help Rescue Man from Cave

County firefighters aided in a dramatic technical rescue of a man pinned between rocks 250 feet inside a cave in the Clear Spring section of western Washington County on Tuesday evening, the county Fire and Rescue Service said in a news release.

Just after 5 p.m., the Maryland Emergency Management Agency tapped advanced technical rescue teams from Montgomery County to join emergency crews from Washington and Frederick Counties, the release said. The man was extricated just after 10 p.m. and flown to a local trauma center for treatment.

Three other cavers with the victim did not require medical treatment.
