MCPS Makes Weather Call For Tuesday, March 20

BREAKING: All after-school and evening activities are cancelled due to pending weather conditions.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD – Due to inclement weather, all Montgomery County Public School after-school and evening activities are cancelled, school officials announced.

Students will have regular, on-time dismissal Tuesday.

The Montgomery County Highway Services Storm Operations Center will activate at noon Tuesday to monitor and respond to the winter weather conditions.

Southeast Montgomery County is under a Winter Storm Watch from midnight to 8 p.m. Wednesday, the National Weather Service reports. A Winter Storm Watch is issued when there is potential for significant snow, sleet or ice accumulations that may impact travel.

Residents can expect heavy, wet snow with total accumulations of five inches or more.

Plan on difficult travel conditions, including during the commute on Wednesday. Significant reductions in visibility are possible.
