MoCo 2020 Election Voting: Mail-In Ballots, Drop Box Sites, More
Montgomery County voters must soon decide how and when they will cast their ballots for the 2020 general election.
ROCKVILLE, MD — Heading into what promises to be an unprecedented and nerve-wracking presidential election, voters must soon decide how and when they will cast their ballots.
Early voting in Maryland starts Oct. 26 and ends Nov. 2. Election Day is Nov. 3.

- Vote by mail
- First, request a mail-in ballot from the State Board of Elections or your local board
- Valid Maryland ID is required
- Election officials must receive the request by Oct. 20 (leave five businesses days for USPS to deliver the request)
- Your mail-in ballot must be mailed or dropped in a designated drop box location by 8 p.m. on Election Day

Haven't Registered To Vote?
Visit elections.maryland.gov to register to vote or update your registration information. The deadline is Oct. 13.

You can also register to vote or update your information in person during early voting or on Election Day. If you update your address on Nov. 3, you'll be asked to complete a provisional ballot.
