Montgomery County Councilman Andrew Friedson Positive For COVID

Friedson told multiple news outlets that he was experiencing only mild symptoms.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD — A Montgomery County councilman has tested positive for COVID-19.

Andrew Friedson told multiple news outlets, including WTOP, that he was experiencing “very mild symptoms” and is “thankful” to be fully vaccinated and boosted against the virus.

Friedson also encouraged Montgomery County residents to get vaccinated against COVID-19.

As a safety precaution, Friedson said he is isolating at home and working remotely.

Friedson is the District 1 councilmember representing western and southwestern Montgomery County from the D.C. line to the Frederick County border. He serves on the Planning, Housing, & Economic Development and the Government Operations & Fiscal Policy Committees.
