Montgomery County Man's Pick 5 Numbers Score $25K Win

The 78-year-old Montgomery County resident bought his lucky ticket at College Plaza Exxon in Rockville.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD — The Maryland Lottery’s new Pick 5 game just gave another lucky player a big prize.

The game, which started Feb. 7, popped up five numbers to match those played by an ecstatic Montgomery County man for a $25,000 win.

According to Maryland Lottery, the 78-year-old placed a 50-cent straight bet for the Feb. 24 evening drawing using the numbers 6, 8, 8, 1 and 7. He won big when his numbers came out in that exact order.

Lottery officials said the Montgomery County resident bought his lucky ticket at College Plaza Exxon located at 15211 Frederick Road in Rockville. The retailer will earn a bonus of $250 from the lottery for selling the lucky $25,000-winning ticket.

Since the game began, lottery officials said players have won 38 $25,000 prizes on 50-cent straight bets and 13 $50,000 prizes on $1 straight bets.
