New Restaurants On Deck for Town Square
Dawson's Market opening now scheduled for summer.
Rockville Town Square’s food offerings are changing again.
Four new restaurants are scheduled to open in the spring, Federal Realty Investment Trust announced in a news release.
Meanwhile, the opening date for Dawson’s Market has been pushed back until summer, Federal Realty, which owns and operates the retail and residential district in Rockville Town Center, announced.

No specific opening dates were offered for the restaurants or the grocery store. After signing a lease for Town Square in September, Dawson’s Market . Federal Realty confirmed a spring opening at that time.
A spokeswoman for Federal Realty could not give a reason for the delay this week. A spokeswoman for Dawson’s Market was not available by phone on Tuesday and did not respond to an email from Rockville Patch.

The most visible change to the restaurant lineup will be on Maryland Avenue, where American Tap Room will open in the 6,500-square-foot .
American Tap Room offers “the finest food quality and service at an affordable price” with “weekend brunch, late-night celebrations and sporting event view parties,” according to the news release.
The local chain is owned and operated by Thompson Hospitality, the same Hendon, Va.-based foodservice company that owns Austin Grill. It has locations in , and
Bar Louie will open in a new 6,600-square-foot space adjacent Dawson’s Market, on Gibbs Street across from . Bar Louie is described in the release as “a casually cool neighborhood restaurant and bar that specializes in oversized sandwiches and artfully concocted signature cocktails and features warm, upbeat and contemporary surroundings” that will offer “an extensive selection of appetizers, pastas, entrees and a wide assortment of beers, microbrews and wines.” The restaurant has locations in 17 states and at Gallery Place in Washington, D.C.
Pho & Rolls will open in the 2,200-square-foot space formerly occupied by Primo Italiano. “Pho & Rolls offers moderately priced Pho, a North Vietnamese traditional noodle soup, and freshly grilled meat and fish hand rolled in rice paper with fresh herbs and vegetables,” according to the news release. All menu items feature “fresh, healthy, low fat, low cholesterol and natural ingredients,” the release said.
Vie de France is scheduled to open in the 1,500-square-foot former home of Fractured Prune. The chain bakery offers European-inspired breads, cookies, cakes, Danishes, breakfasts, sandwiches and other lunch options. It has locations in Kensington, , and Washington, D.C.
The new arrivals follow a year that saw Tippy’s Taco House and Marble Slab Creamery and the announcement of the Dawson’s Market’s lease after a long search for a grocery store to anchor the retail district.
