(UPDATED 9 a.m. Tuesday) A Ride-On Bus was involved in a 12-vehicle crash at Nicholson Lane, near Rockville Pike, a Montgomery County Police spokeswoman confirmed.

The crash occurred at around 1:40 p.m. Monday, Officer Janelle Smith told Patch.

According to what observers told WUSA9, the bus “plowed” through cars stopped at a red light at that intersection either because the brakes failed or because “the bus driver wasn’t paying attention”—details police were unable to corroborate when reached Monday.
