Presidents Day 2018: What's Open, Closed In Rockville

A handful of services in Rockville will take a long weekend to celebrate Presidents Day.

ROCKVILLE, MD — Presidents Day 2018 is just days away. While it's business as usual for some, there are many services and businesses that are closed for the day.

The day is typically considered a celebration of not just George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, who were born in February, but of all U.S. Presidents.

Here is a look at what will be open on Presidents Day, and what will be closed:

  • City Hall: Closed
  • Metered Parking: Not Enforced
  • County Offices: Closed
  • Libraries: Closed
  • County Liquor Stores: All stores will be open 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
  • Recreation: Aquatic facilities and community centers open; aquatics programs will meet as scheduled; all other classes and programs cancelled; administrative offices and senior centers closed; 55+ Active Adult Programs are cancelled
  • Metrorail: Information available at www.wmata.com.
  • Metrobus: Information available at www.wmata.com.
  • TRiPS Commuter Stores (Silver Spring and Friendship Heights) – closed
  • Glenview Mansion and the Rockville Senior Center: Closed
  • The F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre box office will be closed. Tickets are always available at www.rockvillemd.gov/theatre.
  • Lincoln Park, Twinbrook and Thomas Farm community centers and the Rockville Swim and Fitness Center will be open regular hours. Visit www.rockvillemd.gov/swimcenter for swim and fitness center lap and program schedules.
