Rockville Celebrates Memorial Day 2017: Hometown Holidays Music Fest, Taste of Rockville
Taste of Rockville will feature 17 local restaurants along with live music over six city blocks in Rockville Town Center.

From The City of Rockville: Get a taste of diverse offerings from some of Rockville's favorite restaurants during Taste of Rockville, on Saturday, May 27 and Sunday, May 28, as part of the city's 29th annual Hometown Holidays Music Fest.
Taste of Rockville features 17 local restaurants showcasing samples from their menus ranging from ahi tuna to aloo saag, jambalaya to jumbo cookies, and pizza to palak paneer.
Hometown Holidays hosts more than 30 local, regional and national acts on four stages across six city blocks in Rockville Town Center, kids amusements and the return of "the beach" sand pile. The festival runs from 2-10 p.m., with the Taste of Rockville opening at noon on both days. The city's 73rd annual Memorial Day Ceremony and Parade, beginning at 9 a.m. on Monday, May 29, caps off the holiday weekend in Town Center.

Restaurants participating in Taste of Rockville are: Armand's Chicago Pizzeria, Buffalo Wild Wings, Carmen's Italian Ice & Café, Dawson's Market, Golden Samovar, Lucky Strike, Matt's House of Kabob, Mellow Mushroom, Miller's Ale House, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Paladar, Saffron Indian Cuisine, Seasons 52, Seven Seas, Spice Xing, Summer House Santa Monica/Stella Barra Pizzeria and Trapezaria Kuzina.
Food tickets are $1.25 each, with most menu items costing between one and four tickets each. Tickets can be purchased during Hometown Holidays at one of three Taste of Rockville ticket booths. Credit cards are accepted. Taste of Rockville is presented by the Rockville Chamber of Commerce and Community Ministries of Rockville.

Hometown Holidays mugs will once again make a great souvenir. Purchase a mug for only $10 at any beverage booth (cash and credit accepted) and the first beverage is included. Visitors who bring a souvenir mug from past years to a beverage booth can save on their first fill-up.

Montgomery County Memorial Day openings/closings:
- County Offices – closed
- Libraries - closed
- County Liquor stores – all stores will be open 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
- Recreation –all indoor and outdoor aquatic facilities will close at 6 p.m.; administrative offices, senior centers and community recreation centers will be closed

- TRiPS Commuter Stores (Silver Spring and Friendship Heights) – closed
- Refuse/recycling pickup – no collection, all collections scheduled on or after the holiday will be made one day later in the week
- The Shady Grove Processing Facility and Transfer Station - closed Memorial Day; will be open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, May 30. The Public Unloading Facility at the Route 355 (Frederick Road) entrance will operate normal operating hours from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Parking at public garages, lots, curbside meters – free
- MCPS Schools and Administrative Offices – closed
- State offices and courts – closed
