Sample Treats From Julie's Datery at Rockville Natural Market

Anyone in the mood for a sweet date tonight?

The owner of and mastermind behind Julie’s Datery, Julie Reynes, will offer free samples of her pistachio orange and hazelnut chocolate stuffed dates from 4 to 7 p.m. Dec. 9 as a part of the “Meet the Locals” event at Dawson’s Market in Rockville.

An artisan grocer that sells local and natural foods, Dawson’s Market hosts its “Meet the Locals” series on the second Tuesday of each month when it invites shoppers to sample cuisine, treats and goods produced by local vendors.

Stuffed dates from Julie’s Datery are one of several specialty items featured at the market this month. Other vendors participating in “Meet the Locals” in December include Trickling Springs Creamery, Me & 3 Bakery, Two Armadillos, Michele’s Granola and Ever Bar.

The Datery hand-stuffs California Medjool dates with natural ingredients like nuts, fruits and spices in its kitchen space in Alexandria, VA. The brand debuted at the Old Town and Del Rey farmers’ markets this summer. Customers can purchase treats from Julie’s Datery at Dawson’s Market or through its online shop.

Located at the Rockville Town Square at 225 N. Washington St, Dawson’s Market is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
