Here's today's rundown:

  • If you've waited decades, you can wait one more day to drive on the Intercounty Connector. You'll have to, in fact. Despite a lot of political glad-handing, official scissors and giant ribbons "opening" the ICC on Monday, today's snow delayed its opening to traffic until Wednesday.
  • Ice and snow overnight means that this morning's commute has the potential to be a real mess. Know before you go with these state Department of Transportation traffic tools.
  • Ever dream of sitting in on a late night jam session? Well you didn't have to go far if you made it to over the weekend at the Hilton.
  • And in case you were too busy listening to the jazz men blow you might've missed what the wind did at the new District Courthouse. A hint:
  • All in! With every team making the tournament and only the top four seeds determined by record, being on the bubble doesn't carry the same weight in Maryland high school basketball as it does in the NCAA tournament (well, at least until they expand the tourney by another 68 teams). Nonetheless, the brackets are out for this year's state hoops tournaments for boys and girls. See your school's first-round matchup.
  • Speaking of hoops, have you ever seen that really cool NBA promotional spot where Kevin Durant sheds jersey after jersey? Ever realized that the first three jerseys are from local teams? Ever wondered what that was all about? Well, here's a photo gallery from the most recent victory by Montrose Christian School, the powerhouse next door. (You might recognize the jerseys from the commercial.)
  • We've said it before and we'll probably say it again, we want to hear about the great things your kids are doing. We know there are kids out there doing great things that deserve recognition, no matter how big or how small. Nominate them to be our next Whiz Kid.
  • That's our point-by-point for today. Keep up with what you need to know hour-by-hour or minute-by-minute by following RockvillePatch on Twitter or becoming a fan of Rockville Patch on Facebook.
