- It's Opening Day with high school baseball and softball teams around the county taking to the diamond for the first time this season. Clarksburg High comes to town for a . to take on the Rams. Magruder heads west to face Poolesville. The ladies' side of the ledger is the same with the Rockets hosting Clarksburg, the Rams hosting the Wildcats and the Colonels hosting the Falcons. All games are at 3:30 p.m.
- The Rockville City Council has a hefty agenda at 7 tonight at . Among the agenda items is a staff recommendation to spend nearly $360,000 to replace valves in the city's water main that were found to be in need of repair following the water main breaks in July. The council also will review the results from the city's citizen survey. The survey, conducted by the Colorado-based National Research Center, Inc., tracks citizen's opinions on the quality of life, community amenities and programs and services offered by the city. The council also will discuss a proposal by the City of Gaithersburg to annex a 13.7-acre parcel on Shady Grove Road, the former site The Great Indoors. Transportation, bus shelters, a historic district zoning designation for Glenview Mansion and a proposal for Rockville to join the Montgomery County Heritage Area round out the agenda.

- The city's Traffic and Transportation Commission meets at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday in the Black Eyed Susan Conference Room at . The commission will hold a public hearing and discussion and make a recommendation on parking permits for Woodley Gardens West End and will discuss the Rockville Pike draft master plan.
