'Tiger Mom' to Visit Rockville School

Amy Chua, author of "Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother," will speak about her new book, written with her husband.

Residents are invited to join the Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School for an event featuring Yale Law School Professor Amy Chua.

Chua received the nickname “Tiger Mom” after releasing her book “Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother.” On Wednesday, Feb. 11, Chua will discuss her new book written with her husband, Jed Rubenfield, “The Triple Package: How Three Unlikely Traits Explain the Rise and Fall of Cultural Groups in America.”

The two will discuss the book’s thesis and how the Jewish people fit into the theme.

The event will be held at the school’s Annette M. and Theodore N. Lerner Family Upper School Campus and begins at 7 p.m.

A book signing and reception will take place after.
