MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD — Tom Hucker has officially joined the race for Montgomery County Executive, filing his paperwork with the State Board of Elections Tuesday.

Hucker, who just completed a one-year term as the County Council's president — joins at-large councilmember Hans Riemer on the official ballot. County Executive Marc Elrich plans to run again, as does Potomac businessman David Blair, who lost to Elrich in the 2018 Democratic primary by 77 votes.

Hucker wrote a letter to the county at the end of his County Council term, looking back on his year as the president.
