Westfield Montgomery Announces Black Friday Hours, Holiday Programs

In addition to extended holiday hours, the Bethesda mall offers a number of holiday programs this season in its newly-renovated facilities.

Bethesda’s Westfield Montgomery shopping center kicks off the holiday season with special Black Friday hours, newly renovated features and a lineup of holiday events that include musical performances and visits from Santa.

To accommodate Black Friday shoppers this week, Westfield Montgomery will open on Thanksgiving Day from 6 p.m. to midnight, and reopen on Friday, Nov. 28, at 6 a.m.

Recently renovated, some of the center’s new amenities include a dining terrace, a new theater, expanded retail selection, valet services and Park Assist.

“This is an exciting year for Westfield Montgomery,” said Senior Marketing Director at Westfield Montgomery Patti Green in a release. “With the addition of our new dining terrace and ArcLight Cinemas, we’re no longer just a shopping center, we’re a destination where visitors can shop, dine and be entertained.”

After Thanksgiving, the the shopping center will full of festive cheer and adorned with elegant crystal and glass-like ornaments complete with a floating, ornamental tree made of 500 red decorative balls.

Returning by popular demand, Merry Makers will entertain Westfield Montgomery shoppers during the holiday season at. Through this program, the center hires professional actors disguised as regular mall patrons to distribute retailer gift card giveaways and samples, and even purchase gifts for several lucky and unsuspecting guests.

Shoppers can also take in the sounds of the holidays with this year’s concert series. Westfield Montgomery will host performances in its center court from The Rockville Brass Band on Sunday, Nov. 30, Polished Quint on Saturday, Dec. 6, and the Capital Wind Symphony on both Saturday, Dec. 6, and Saturday, Dec. 13.

The shopping center’s annual Menorah Lighting Ceremony returns this year on Tuesday, Dec. 16. Hosted in partnership with PJ Library, a local Jewish family engagement program that advocates children’s literacy, Chanukah Night Lights will bring together live entertainment, games and giveaways in the Nordstrom corridor on the first level from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Shoppers can also give back to the community through Westfield Montgomery’s charitable gift wrap station. Open on Friday, Dec. 5, through Wednesday, Dec. 24, shoppers may have their holiday gifts wrapped in the Sears corridor and all fundraising proceeds will benefit the Foundation for the National Institutes of Health.

Located at 7101 Democracy Blvd. at the intersection of I-270 and I-495 in Bethesda, Westfield Montgomery Shopping center provides customers with fashion, food and film in its more than 1.2 million square feet of retail space. The center’s regular hours are Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. through 6 p.m.
