What's Open, Closed In Rockville On Christmas Eve, Day 2021
See what services will be closed in Montgomery County and Rockville for Christmas Eve and Christmas this year.

ROCKVILLE, MD — Christmas Eve is on a Friday this year, meaning that some county services will be closed or altered to accommodate the holiday.
Make sure to check out when your trash and recycling will be collected, alterations to train and bus schedules, office closures and more below.
These are the closures for Montgomery County and Rockville government programs for Dec. 24 and Dec. 25:
- Rockville City Hall and city facilities: Closed Dec. 23, 24 and 25
- Rockville City Parking Meters: Free on Dec. 23, 24 and 25
- Rockville Swim and Fitness Center: On Dec. 24, the North Pool is open 6 a.m. to 4 p.m., the
South Pool is open 6 to 8 a.m. and the Fitness Room and Lobby is open 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center is closed on Dec. 25. - Rockville Senior Center; Croydon Creek Nature Center; Lincoln Park, Thomas Farm and Twinbrook community centers; Glenview Mansion and the Rockville Civic Center business office: Closed Dec. 23, 24 and 25
- F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre box office: Closed Dec. 21 to Jan. 10
- County offices: Closed Dec. 24 and 25
- State offices and courts: Closed Dec. 24 and 25
- Libraries: Closed Dec. 24 and 25
- Ride On: Dec. 24- Will operate on a Sunday schedule. Dec. 25 - will operate on a Saturday schedule.
- Ride On extRa and Flex: Not in service
- Flash: Dec. 24 and 25 - Will operate on a weekend schedule (Orange Line only)
- MARC Train and Commuter Bus – Information available here
- TRiPS Silver Spring commuter store: Closed Dec. 24 and 25
- TRiPS Mobile Commuter Store: Closed Dec. 24 and 25
- Parking at public garages, lots, curbside meters: Free
- County-collected trash and recycling: no changes in collection schedules.
- Shady Grover Transfer Station and Recycling Center: Will be open on Dec. 24 and closed on Dec. 25
- Recreation: Aquatic facilities close at 3 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 24. Community centers, senior centers and administrative offices will be closed Friday, Dec. 24, and Sunday, Dec. 26. All facilities closed Saturday, Dec. 25.

- Open to pedestrians and cyclists from 9 a.m. on Dec. 23, through 4 p.m. on Dec. 26: Sligo Creek Parkway: Old Carroll Avenue to Piney Branch Road (1.1 miles). Forest Glen Road to University Boulevard West (1.5 miles). Beach Drive from Connecticut Avenue to Knowles Avenue (2.9 miles).
- Open to pedestrians and cyclists from 7 a.m. on Dec. 23 through 4 p.m. on Dec. 26: Little Falls Parkway from River Road to Arlington Road (1 mile).
Friday, Dec. 24:
- Montgomery Parks’ Headquarters, Customer Service, and Permit Offices: Closed
- Brookside Gardens Visitors Center: Closed
- Closing at 3 p.m.: Cabin John Ice Rink, Wheaton Ice Arena, Pauline Bentz Addie Tennis Center, Wheaton Indoor Tennis, Wheaton Sports Pavilion and South Germantown Driving Range
Saturday, Dec. 25:
