Police ID Man Killed In Silver Spring Shooting, 1 In Custody
Police said the shooting happened shortly before 2:10 p.m. Friday.

SILVER SPRING, MD — Police have identified the man killed in a shooting in Silver Spring on Friday, according to authorities. Another man is facing charges in connection with the death.
According to Montgomery County police, officers responded to Richmond Avenue and Fenton Street shortly before 2:10 p.m. Friday after receiving a call about a shooting.
When officers arrived, they found a 22-year-old Babacar Mbengue of Silver Spring lying in the street with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was taken to the hospital, according to police, where he was pronounced dead.

The suspect, identified as 20-year-old Fallou Galass Fall of Laurel, was arrested in Prince George’s County shortly after 6 p.m., police said.
A preliminary investigation revealed that Mbengue and Fall were inside a red Tesla when they began arguing. According to police, both got out of the car and continued fighting in the street.

During the altercation, police said Fall pulled out a gun and shot Mbengue. He then left the scene in the Tesla.
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
