15-Year-Old Arrested At Northwood High, Had Ammo On Him: Police
MOCO Police say an anonymous tip led school staff to do a search of a 15-year-old at Northwood High. They said he had ammo on him.

SILVER SPRING, MD — A 15-year-old was arrested at Northwood High School after an anonymous tip prompted school staff to do a self-search of the student, revealing he had ammo on him.
Police say the student fled the school and police were called, while Northwood High went into a shelter-in-place and nearby Forest Knolls Elementary School went into lockdown. The student was taken into custody within an hour, police said. Bethesda Beat reported that the student turned himself in. Police said the student was unarmed.
Cops found a handgun off school property during a K-9 search, but do not know if it belongs to the student.

The name of the student will not be released because he is a minor. The investigation is ongoing.
