3 Charged In Veirs Mill Road Carjacking

SILVER SPRING, MD — Two men and a woman have been charged in an armed carjacking that happened Sept. 2 in the 12100 block of Veirs Mill Road, Montgomery County Police said Monday.

Detectives arrested Lascelles Alonzo Greenwood, 26, of Silver Spring, Alei Imani Cook, 27, of an unknown address and Dewayne Davis, 35, of an unknown address. The trio face charged tied to a carjacking that happened at a gas station on Veirs Mill Road about 4:30 a.m.

A police report said a man picked up Cook at a gas station in the 12200 block of Veirs Mill Road about 4:30 a.m. and parked his Honda Civic in the 12100 block of Veirs Mill Road.

Shortly after, Greenwood and Davis approached the car and threatened the victim with a knife, authorities said. The man was pulled from the Honda, and the suspects drove away in the victim's car.

Police have not said how they identified Greenwood, Cook and Davis as the suspected carjackers. On Sept. 5, detectives arrested Cook and Greenwood near Veirs Mill Road and Randolph Road, while Davis was taken into custody Sept. 11 near Veirs Mill Road and Randolph Road.

Greenwood and Davis were charged with armed carjacking and related charges. Both men are being held at the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit without bond.

Police said Cook was charged with conspiracy to commit carjacking and theft. She is being held on a $10,000 unsecured personal bond.
