4 People Seriously Injured In Multi-Vehicle Crash: Police

GLEMONT, MD — Four people were seriously injured in a multi-vehicle crash in Glenmont Tuesday afternoon, officials said.

The accident occurred at southbound Georgia Avenue and Hathaway Drive near Silver Spring at about 3:30 p.m., spokesperson Pete Piringer said.

The four trauma patients, including one child, were transported to the hospital with serious injuries. Police said two of the patients are priority 1 patients, while the two other are priority 2 patients.

A victim was also trapped in their vehicle, officials said.

Northbound lanes on Georgia Avenue (MD-97) are blocked at Glenallan Ave. Drivers should expect significant delays and seek an alternate route.
