5 Things You Need to Know Today: May 3

1. The National Weather Service predicts a slight chance of showers, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m today. The day may reach a high near 80 degrees. Later into the evening thunderstorms  are likely with the temperature dropping to 54 degrees. 

2. Watch a free movie called Redemption at the Silver Spring Civic Center hosted by Docs in Progress. Born into a family of 16 children, Tom Lewis navigates his way through the world as a migrant worker, a factory laborer, a soldier and a police officer in Washington DC in the midst of the turbulent times following Martin Luther King, Jr.'s assassination.
