Bicyclist in Serious Condition After Being Hit By Car

An adult male riding a bicycle was hit by a vehicle in downtown Silver Spring Sunday night and was in serious condition.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue crews arrived at the 900 block of Silver Spring Avenue, near the intersection of Fenton Street, around 9 p.m. on March 9 for the report of a pedestrian struck. 

The bicyclist was transported to a local trauma center with serious, life-threatening injuries, according to Beth Anne Nesselt, spokesperson for the department. 

Three people who were inside the vehicle were taken to a local hospital for evaluation and check-ups.
