Famed Opera Singer to Perform in Bethesda
Well-known for her title role in "Carmen," Denyce Graves will appear next week at Bradley Hills Church.

Kicking off the 2014-2015 concert series at the Bradley Hills Presbyterian Church in Bethesda next week is a performance by world-renowned opera singer Denyce Graves.
Appearing on Saturday, Nov. 1, at 7:30 p.m., Graves will sing a selection of English and French art songs, which are pieces specifically written for a solo performance with the accompaniment of a piano.
The mezzo-soprano singer debuted at the Metropolitan Opera in 1995 and is most famous for playing the role of Carmen in Bizet’s “Carmen” and Dalila in Camille Saint-Saëns’s “Samson et Dalila.”

Graves is among a number of singers and musicians scheduled to perform at the Bradley Hills Church this season. Additional performances to look out for are those by Chris Vadala and the Rick Whitehead Trio on Saturday, Nov. 15; the professional chamber choir The Thirteen on Saturday, Dec. 13; and organist Donald Sutherland on Saturday, March 14.
Advance tickets for this event are $20 for adults and $15 for seniors, while any remaining tickets will be sold at the door for $25 for adults and $20 for seniors. All proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to the Duke Ellington School of the Arts in Washington, D.C.
