The Silver Spring Garden Club invites you to a talk on "How Sweet It Is: Fragrance in the Garden"

Wouldn’t a fragrance-washed terrace entice you to relax outdoors as spring gives way to summer? Come learn the best plants to add sweet scents to your garden.

Our speaker, Ruth Rogers Clausen, trained in horticulture in England. She has been in the field in the U.S. for many years. Over her long career she has taught and lectured widely. Former Horticulture Editor for Country Living Gardener, she has written several books including Perennials for American Gardens, co-authored by the late Nicolas H. Ekstrom. Other titles include Dreamscaping (Hearst) and 50 Beautiful Deer Resistant Plants (Timber Press), plus Essential Perennials (Timber Press) which was co-authored by Thomas Christopher

REFRESHMENTS will be provided after the talk by the following Silver Spring Garden Club members: Justin Eldred, Sue Smith, and Margaret Dohmen.

Please turn off or silence your cell phones during our meetings out of courtesy to our guest speakers and your fellow club members. If you must take a call, please proceed outside the room and turn left and proceed down the hallway or go outside the building.

We will have several flats of tomatoes, peppers, herbs, and other edibles for sale at our meeting this Monday, May 16.

They will be $2 each or 6 for $10 (12 for $20).
