Human Remains Discovered By Dog Walker In Brookeville

BREAKING NEWS: A man walking his dogs found human remains in a wooded area in Brookeville, police said.

BROOKEVILLE, MD — A man walking his dogs found human remains in a wooded area in Brookeville Sunday evening, police announced Tuesday.

The resident contacted police at about 5:15 p.m. and told them he stumbled across the remains in the woods in the 19500 block of Georgia Ave.

Officers responded to the area and located skeleton remains buried in a shallow grave, police said. Detectives believe that the unidentified remains belonged to an adult who has been deceased for less than a year, police said.

An autopsy will be completed by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore to determine the cause and manner of death.
