• Kentucky Girl Missing Since October Found In Silver Spring (patch.com) — Silver Spring readers are learning that a 13-year-old girl missing from Kentucky since October was safely found this week inside a home on Dalewood Drive. Montgomery County police and U.S. Marshals located her and arrested a 37-year-old man on kidnapping charges, with the suspect now held locally while awaiting extradition to Kentucky. 
• Grants awarded to improve mobility for adults and disabled persons (mymcmedia.org) — Silver Spring seniors and residents with disabilities will see better transportation options thanks to new grants for Easter Seals and Leisure World’s free transit system. These awards, part of a larger regional funding package, will help add accessible vehicles, retain drivers, and improve service reliability for medical appointments, shopping, and social activities across Montgomery County.
